Below are two pages from an early attempt at illustrating The Discovery of Spoons myself as a photo comic. I abandoned the idea after only two pages, when I realized that I just didn't have the resources to produce some major sequences photographically. Looking at these now, I have absolutely no regrets about taking the script to John instead. But I do still like the boxy, claustrophobic design idea, and in fact it did influence the final comic.
